This time, we want to introduce you to Darren Lacroix – he is the only speaker in the world who is a CSP (Certified Speaking Professional), anAS (Accredited Speaker), and a World Champion of Public Speaking!
In 2001, Darren LaCroix outspoke 25,000 contestants from 14 countries to become the World Champion of Public Speaking. He did it with a very funny speech. Since that victory, Darren travels the world demystifying the process of creating a powerful presentation. In this week’s interview, Darren Lacroix gives lots of priceless practical advice on how to get booked and get paid.
He also generously shares what he does to keep growing his own speaking and business and, most importantly, how to make this whole speaking business FUN.

— Grow your list as your greatest asset while speaking on stage, and beyond
— Define your minimum speaking fee to get seriously considered by speaker bureaus
— Track these metrics as a speaker to turn your speaking into earning
— Hire a speaking coach to dig out your best stories and to turn them into gold
— Fun ways of drawing attention to you as the outstanding speaker that you are

Darren came up with a Las Vegas style method to secure his speaking opportunities, and so can you!
If you want to speak more often, reach out to event organizers EVERY DAY. Darren uses a visualization technique and puts 10 Stage Time University (STU) chips on the table… of course you can use coins, pens… whatever works for you. Just put 10 of them on your table. Every time you reach out to someone that can help you get booked as a speaker, you move one chip or coin from your original pile to your new pile. You want to make a serious statement about yourself as a speaker? Set aside half an hour a day to find an opportunity to speak.
Decide how many people you want to reach out to per day. Will it be 10? 5 or 3? How many “chips” do you want to shift from your original pile to a new pile every day? Darren moves ten! If you are not willing to turn this into your new habit, you are just not serious about getting on stage.
If you are serious about stepping up with your speaking, make sure you avoid these Top 10 speaking mistakes.
